ABOUT
Like most species of eucalyptus, Eucalyptus radiata is native to Australia. A very large flowering tree in the myrtle family, Eucalyptus radiata produces fragrant leaves and is also known informally as narrow-leaved peppermint. Eucalyptus is an evergreen tree that grows to a height of over 300 feet, making it one of the world’s tallest trees. It used to be known as a fever tree. There are over 700 varieties of eucalyptus, with over 500 that produce essential oil. Many of them produce the same actions as Tea Tree and Myrtle essential oils, like all members of the myrtaceae family.
In 2011 a study at Hildelberg University found that Eucalyptus radiata has the second-largest abundance of 1.8 cineol (eucalyptol) after Eucalyptus globulus.
Eucalyptus Radiata essential oil is found in R.C.™, Raven™, and Thieves®.
